Deep Relaxation for Frontliners

In this educational and restorative workshop, participants will: Learn how to define relaxation through the lens of contemplative science; Study and practice skills for adaptive resilience and healing from burnout and trauma; Understand how rest as self-care facilitates compassionate care on the frontlines; Experience a relaxing guided visualization and body scan meditation in a trauma-informed contemporary adaptation of the ancient tradition of yoga nidra.

This course is appropriate for any type of frontliner working in the presence of deep suffering.

Empathic Boundaries & Embodied Compassion

90 minutes

Exploring the root of what is commonly known as “compassion fatigue” through the lenses of contemplative neuroscience and somatic psychology. Review research on empathy and compassion in the brain and nervous system. Understand how Polyvagal Theory defines compassion as a ventral vagal state. Discover tools for interoception that facilitate embodiment/a safe self. Experience the difference between felt states of empathy and compassion. Practice embodied compassion as a tool for resilience. This program brings value to organizations by empowering participants to utilize self-regulation and co-regulation skills within the workplace and at home.
